Yes. The hardware includes inReach, but two-way messaging and SOS require an active Garmin satellite subscription. Plans are flexible monthly or annual.
How accurate is it under tree cover or in canyons?
Multi-band GNSS on dual L1/L5 frequencies dramatically reduces signal bounce — you keep accurate fixes where single-band receivers drift.
Can it run on regular batteries in the field?
Yes. The Montana 710 accepts both the rechargeable lithium-ion pack and a standard 3x AA battery pack for extended trips.
What maps are included?
Preloaded Garmin TopoActive maps with routable trails, contour lines and POIs. You can also add BirdsEye satellite imagery and additional Garmin map products.
Can I mount it in my vehicle?
Yes. Montana 710 is compatible with Garmin's automotive and motorcycle mounts and powered cradles for overlanding and adventure-bike use.
Is it waterproof?
Yes, IPX7 rated — survives accidental immersion in up to 1m of water for 30 minutes.

This is a 100% brand-new, genuine Garmin product covered by Garmin's international warranty. It is the international version (not TRA-registered), so no local UAE warranty applies — warranty claims are handled directly by Garmin and may be subject to Garmin's service charges.
